Paola Quaglia is an experienced Italian Language Coach who has taught at the Royal College of Music since 2002 and regularly coaches at ROH Covent Garden, La Monnaie, Opera de Lille, Scottish Opera, Opera North, WNO, Opera Holland Park, Garsington Opera, The Grange Festival, GTO, ETO, Raymond Gubbay and BBC Singers.
She has also coached for recordings with Deutsche Grammophone and Sony, working with singers like Rolando Villazon, Anna Prohaska, Simone Kermes amongst others and conductors such as Sir Antonio Pappano, Teodor Currentzis and Jonathan Cohen.
A trained singer with many roles in her repertoire, she combines technical expertise, in-depth knowledge of the Italian vocal repertoire/language/singing style, contacts and experience in the classical music industry (she managed opera singers for 8 years working for a foremost UK Classical Artists agency), and a true passion for music and the voice in particular.
