
Described as “sublime and completely intuitive”, pianist Dylan Perez is a recitalist, chamber musician and coach specialising in vocal repertoire who is highly in demand across the UK. He has been awarded the Gerald Moore Prize for accompanists, the Paul Hamburger Prize for Accompaniment, and the Accompanist’s Prize at the Bampton Young Singers Competition. He has participated in many international competitions including Kathleen Ferrier Awards, Wigmore Hall/International Opera Competition, and the Das Lied International Competition.
Dylan has been an Oxford Lieder Young Artist (with contralto Jess Dandy) and an alumnus of the Franz-Schubert-Institut in Baden bei Wien, Austria. He is a Britten-Pears Young Artist and a laureate of the Académie Royaumont in association with the Musée d’Orsay, Paris.
Together with mezzo Ema Nikolovska, Dylan gave his debut recital at Wigmore Hall in May 2019. He has performed in recital at other venues in London such as the Barbican, Milton Court Concert Hall, St. Martins-in-the-Fields, Cadogan Hall, and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Dylan can be heard often on BBC Radio 3, whether it is for a Proms Extra concert, a Total Immersion performance, or live on InTune. He has also performed at Opera Lille, Musée d’Orsay (Paris), and La Monnaie/De Munt (Brussels).
Together with Julien Van Mellaerts, Dylan runs “Opera in Song” at Opera Holland Park. The series, which illuminates operatic characters and plots in the art song format, celebrates its fifth anniversary this year.
Coaching and teaching has become a vital part of Dylan’s musical life. He has recently been appointed to the Vocal Coach faculty at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and has been on faculty at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London, as well as a guest coach at the Royal Academy of Music. He has lead song projects at RBC and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Dylan is also in high demand for private coachings at his home in south east London.
Dylan has recently recorded the complete songs of Samuel Barber for Resonus, which has been critically received including “Recording of the Month” BBC Music Magazine and five stars in the Sunday Times. Future recording plans include songs by Rorem and Caplet.
Dylan returns to Wigmore Hall several times this coming year, as well as performances at Oxford International Music Festival, Bechstein Hall, and Thaxted Festival.
