Richard Berkeley-Steele

In a career spanning 40 years, Richard has performed in some of the world’s great opera houses. His career began with the lyric roles of Flamand, Fenton and Tamino and progressed into the German Heldentenor repertoire. He sang Loge, Siegmund and Siefried in many Ring Cycles.

Notable performances were Laca in Jenůfa (Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco), Siegfried (Seattle, ENO), Lohengrin (ENO, Palermo), Tannhäuser (Sydney, Beijing), Siegmund and Peter Grimes (Barcelona), Herodes (Washington, Stuttgart). He is a professor of singing at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
