We are grateful to our supporters who make it possible for us to offer a small number of full-fee prizes and smaller bursaries each year.
If you would like to apply for a prize or bursary, the application window is 1st December to 30th January, before the course applications open in mid-February. You will be informed of the outcome of your application so that you can decide if you would like to accept your place on the course. There is no fee to apply for a prize or bursary.
Applications
To apply for any of our awards, or bursary support, please submit:
| ✓ | A cover letter, outlining which prizes/bursary you are applying for, your circumstances, and how receiving support would impact your development. |
| ✓ | An up-to-date CV. |
| ✓ | A recent recording. If you are a pianist, preferably a recording with a singer. |
| ✓ | A letter of reference, preferably from your current teacher or similar. |

Part-fee bursaries
As well as the 5 major awards, we also have smaller bursaries available, usually between £100 and £250 per student.
On your application form, please list which of the awards and/or bursaries you with you apply for.
Additional Information
- Accommodation: Shared-occupancy accommodation will be provided for all prize and bursary students.
- Thank you notes: All awardees will be required to write a short letter of thanks after the course, reporting on what they gained from their experiences and their next steps.
- Choir: All awardees are expected to attend the Oxenfoord Choir rehearsal each evening of the course, and perform as part of the choir in the Chapel Concert.
- Volunteer Commitment: Bursary recipients are expected to contribute time during the week if required to assist in the smooth operation of the course.
- Piano prize recipients will collaborate closely with our professional staff pianists, accompanying various lessons, classes, and opera scenes throughout the week. Due to the dynamic nature of the course, repertoire is often assigned on short notice. Therefore, exceptional sight-reading abilities are essential.
